The FTM Operations and Administration Console

The FTM Operations and Administration Console (OAC) is a web-based user interface that provides a user or operator a view of the FTM database.

Use the FTM OAC to monitor, configure, and control any number of deployed FTM applications (see Multiple applications and versions). Each FTM application is a unique entity with its own operational and configuration data:
Operational data
Data that originates or changes state as a result of a message that was processed. This data includes transmissions, transactions, batches, and events.
Configuration data
Encompasses system configuration items as defined by the model for an application version, for example, formats and channels (see Model configuration data). Service participants and scheduler tasks have an operational component and they can change state as a message passes through the system. The OAC also displays some of its own security configuration data, called authorizations, which apply to all versions of an application.
As a user, you can display data only for applications to which you have access, and you can run only those actions for which you are authorized. Icons that correspond to actions for which you are not authorized are not displayed.
The following figure shows the page that is opened after you log in to the OAC, it lists all installed FTM applications.

Search
The search page is available if you select an option from the Menu page. With search, you can specify the search criteria that are to be applied to limit the scope of the list in the content pane.

The content pane shows the following information:
  • On the initial page, the content pane contains a list of available FTM application versions. In the leftmost column, an icon indicates the status of each application version. For more information, see Status icons.
  • If you select an option from the menu page, a result list is automatically displayed for configuration data. For operational data, as response times can be sensitive to large volumes of data, automatic search can be enabled or disabled in the dialog box, as described in Setting user preferences. For lists of operational objects, such as transactions, an icon in the leftmost column indicates the status. For more information, see Status icons.
  • When you select a row in a result list, the content pane contains details about that row.
