Connection availability
On each of the four lines to TCH, the TCH connector periodically sends echo request messages in case no other operational data traffic is caused by the application.
Sending echo request messages allows the connector to determine whether the connection on a particular line is working. If none of the four connections are working, the connector responds to FTM with a pacs.002 reject message that says it cannot send payment messages. TCH reports the unavailability of the participant to its other members.
From an operational point of view, you have the following options to monitor the status of the connections to TCH:
- Track IBM® MQ channel status to/from TCH
- Track IBM MQ queue Statistics
- For example, the response from CSM receives at least one message per minute (echo response from TCH).
- Track FTM IP
TCH connector log file in CSV format
- Each transition between online and offline states is recorded.
- Create already "Warnings" if not all four connections are up.
