Application programming
The topics in this section describe the main programming areas that a typical FTM application implementation may require.
Because the FTM platform is based on the IBM® Integration Bus, a substantial amount of additional information can be obtained from the IBM Integration Bus documentation. Application requirements may require the use of any of the core IBM Integration Bus features. The FTM documentation does not attempt to describe all aspects of such usage.
Application programming cannot start before the analysis and design of the application is underway. The
design task does not need to be fully completed; as the analysis and design are fleshed out, implementation of
those artifacts can begin. Typically the following output from the analysis and design phase can initiate the
start of implementation:
- List of and definitions of external formats
- List of and definitions of input and output channels
- List of and specification of mappers
- List of and specification of actions
