Supported virtualization environments

The following table lists the virtualization environments that are supported by IBM® Flex System Manager VMControl, and the tasks that are supported in each environment.

  1. For IBM i systems that are managed by IBM Flex System Manager.
  2. For systems that are managed by IBM Flex System Manager or Integrated Virtualization Manager.
  3. This virtualization environment does not support encapsulating virtual servers into system pool management in group as workload.
  4. For systems capable of PowerVM® live partition mobility, with the ActiveMobility property set to True.
  5. Not supported for IBM Flex System Manager.
  6. Relocation of IBM i virtual servers is supported only for virtual servers that are running IBM i v7.1, TR4 PTF group SF99707 level 4, or later. The virtual server must be running on a POWER7® host that has firmware release 730.51 or later.
  7. The remote restart feature in IBM i virtual servers is only supported on virtual servers that are running IBM i v7.1, TR4 PTF group SF99707 level 4, or later. Additionally, the virtual server must be running on a POWER7 host that has a firmware release of 770, or later.
