Preparing a Windows Vista system for Platform Agent managed system management

Before IBM® Flex System Manager can manage Platform Agent on a system running Windows Vista, you must configure the firewall to allow communication on the SLP, CIM, and CIM SSL ports.

1. Configure the system for Agentless managed system management as described in "Preparing to manage a Agentless managed system running Windows Vista." Configuration for Agentless managed system management is required in order to access the managed system.
2. Click Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Windows Firewall.
3. Click Allow a program through Windows Firewall.
4. Select the Remote administration check box.
5. Specify ports to allow through Windows Firewall. Complete the following steps for each of the ports listed in Table 1.
   1. Click Add port.
   2. Specify the Name, Port number, and Protocol in the Add port window.
   3. Click OK.

6. Click OK.
