Patches
Patches are one time updates that install without interrupting the I/O process. They are generally used to address minor bugs or security issues. Auto updates are designed to occur periodically when a new versions of a feature become available, such as Ransomware Threat Detection.
Under some scenarios, IBM® releases a patch that fixes or updates a part of the product. Patch installation does not cause any interruption to the IO processing.
Patches are made available on FixCentral with the help of direct download
link (for more information, see Obtaining
packages) or as part of a
general collection of available patches.
- For patches that are made available by a direct download link
- To start the installation process:
- Go to .
- To install the patch, under Manual updates section, check Use an existing package.
- Select the patch from the list of available packages on the system and click Install Patch.
- For patches that are released as part of a general collection of available patches
- To start the installation process:
- Go to .
- To install the patches, select Patches tab, and click Install from the overflow menu. You can also click Available patches link on System Update panel.
- On the Transfer and install page, enter your IBMid along with Patch name.
- To view or edit the patches, select Installed patches link on the System Update panel.
