restorefromsnapshot
Use the restorefromsnapshot command to restore a parent volume group to a snapshot taken at an earlier point in time or to restore from a snapshot of a thin-clone volume group to the source of the thin-clone volume group.
Syntax
Parameters
- -resyncrestoredvolumes
- Allows the user to permit a restore which will result in a loss of high availability to the storage partition. A resynchronization of the restored volumes will begin and high availability will be restored once the synchronization is complete.
- -snapshot name
- Specifies the name of the snapshot to be restored.
- -volumegroup volumegroup_id_or_name | -parentuid id
- Specifies the name or ID of the volume group with the snapshot to be restored.
- -parentuid id
- Specifies the UID identifying the parent volumes of the snapshot.
- -snapshotid snapshot_id | snapshot_uuid
- Specifies the ID or UUID of the snapshot to be restored.
- -volumes list_of_volume_ids | list_of_volume_name | list_of_volume_uids
- Specifies the names, IDs, or UIDs of the volume group with the snapshot to be restored.
- -restoresource
- (Optional) Restores a snapshot of a thin-clone volume group to the source of the thin-clone volume group instead of restoring to the thin-clone.
Note: If restorefromsnapshot command is used on a High
Availability (HA) volume group specifying a local snapshot, HA is temporarily lost.
Note: This command is available during the upgrade
process.
When using the partition IP address to run this command,
consider the following:
- The user must identify objects using the name or UUID. Short IDs cannot be specified when using the partition IP address.
- Only objects belonging to the partition can be created or acted upon. When creating new objects, the -partition parameter will be auto-populated for the partition. You cannot move items out of a partition when using the partition IP address.
An invocation example
