Use the lsvolumegrouppopulation command to list the volume group population information and to show the progress of volume group restores. This view includes volume groups of type clone or thin-clone.

Parameters

-delim delimiter
(Optional) Specify a delimiter to separate data in the output.
-nohdr
(Optional) Suppress the headings in the output.
-filtervalue attribute=value
(Optional) Specifies a list of one or more filters. Only objects with a value that matches the filter attribute value are displayed.
-filtervalue?
(Optional) Displays a list of valid filter attributes.

Description

This table provides the attribute values that can be displayed as output view data.

Attribute Description
volume_group_id Indicates the ID of the volume group.
volume_group_name Indicates the name of the volume group.
volume_group_type Indicates the volume groups of type clone or thin-clone.
Note: A group can contain volumes that do not have a type as well as volumes of type thin-clone or clone. They cannot contain volumes that are of thin-clone and volumes of type clone. In this case, the type refers to the type for the volumes that are being populated.
start_time Indicates the time when volume groups image was first populated. The valid time stamp format is YYMMDDHHMMSS.
source_volume_group_id Indicates the ID of the source volume group.
source_volume_group_name Indicates the name of the source volume group. Blank if no type is set and no restore process ongoing.
parent_uid Indicates the ID identifying the source volume.
source_snapshot Indicates the name of the snapshot that is used to populate the volume group.
estimated_completion_time Indicates the estimated time when background populate of the clone volumes in the volume group completes. This estimate is calculated by using the used_capacity (used_capacity_before_reduction for DRP) of the volumes. The actual background copy rate is achieved to estimate how long each volume is going to take and then choosing the longest time remaining. The valid time stamp format is YYMMDDHHMMSS.
rate Indicates the rate at which the volume is populated. By default this rate is 2 MBps. Possible values are 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048 MBps. If volumes have a mix of population rates, then this value is the lowest rate.
data_to_move Indicates the amount of data to be copied. As the copy progresses, the value in this field decreases. An empty field indicates no more data to copy. If the user uses the optional -bytes parameter, capacity values are displayed in bytes.
restore_start_time Indicates the time that the latest restore operation was started. It is displayed as blank or in YYMMDDHHMMSS format if no restore operation is ongoing.
restore_snapshot_name Indicates the name of the snapshot that is used to populate the volume group. It is displayed as blank if no restore operation is ongoing.
restore_estimated_completion_time Indicates an estimate time when the background restore of the volumes in the volume group completes. The estimated time is calculated by using the used_capacity (used_capacity_before_reduction for DRP) of the volumes and the actual background copy rate achieved. This calculation is used to estimate the duration that is required for each volume and then it select the longest remaining time. It is displayed as blank or in YYMMDDHHMMSS format if no restore operation is ongoing
restore_source_volume_group_id Indicates the ID of the source volume group for the snapshot that is used for the restore operation
restore_source_volume_group_name Indicates the name of the source volume group for the snapshot that is used for the restore operation
When using the partition IP address to run this command, consider the following:
  • The user must identify objects using the name or UUID. Short IDs cannot be specified when using the partition IP address.
  • Views will be filtered to display only objects related to the partition associated with the IP address. An error will be displayed if the user requests a detailed view for an object that is not related to the partition.
