Removing the shipping brackets from (IBM SSR task)

An IBM® System Services Representative (SSR) uses this procedure to remove shipping brackets from the racked system.

Procedure

For each control enclosure in the rack:

  1. Remove the 3 screws shown as A in Figure 1 on each side of the shipping bracket
  2. Remove the 6 screws shown as B in Figure 1 holding the middle of the shipping bracket to the back of the control enclosure.

  3. Pull the shipping bracket out of the rack.
  4. Remove the screws holding the rail end brackets to the shipping bracket as shown in Figure 2

  5. Fit the rail end brackets to the back of the control enclosure rails as shown in Figure 3
