Explanation
A host is considered as offline if it has not logged in to any of the target ports.
User response
Perform the following to resolve the error:
- To identify the host status as offline, use lshost command. If host or virtual machine is powered on (physical status), then connectivity is the problem.
- To view the operational ports in Fibre Channel, use lsfabric command.
- To determine IP configurations, use lsip command.
- To avoid the alerts of the host when offline, use the chhost command to set the suppressofflinealert parameter in the output from the lshost command.
- Check whether the host is operational and cables are connected between the host HBAs and the switch ports.
- Check the host ports that are correctly zoned on the switch to the IBM Storage.
