Replication statistics
You can use the metrics that the system collects for policy-based replication to analyze performance issues. Statistics for policy-based replication help you troubleshoot and improve system performance.
Volume group statistics
Policy-based replication operates on volume groups rather than individual volumes. Therefore, most of the replication statistics are recorded against a volume group. The following statistics are logged for volume groups:
| Statistic name | Description |
|---|---|
| rarp | Indicates the average recovery point in seconds for the volume group since the last time statistics were collected. |
| rnrw | Indicates the cumulative number of replication writes to the target sent by this node for this volume group. |
| rnrb | Indicates the cumulative number of blocks that this node has replicated for this volume group. |
| rwrp | Indicates the worst recovery point in seconds for the volume group since the last time statistics were collected. |
Node statistics
For node-level values, policy-based replication adds to the existing node XML statistics file.
| Statistic name | Description |
|---|---|
| rjru | Indicates the percentage of journal resources that are used for replicating data, averaged across all threads. Value out of 10000 representing a percentage to two decimal places. |
| rjrw | Indicates the highest percentage of journal resources that are used across all threads. Value out of 10000 representing a percentage to two decimal places. |
Volume statistics
Generally, all statistics regarding replication are reported on the volume groups but many existing tools focus on displaying statistics on the individual volumes.
| Statistic name | Description |
|---|---|
| varp | Indicates the average recovery point in seconds for the volume group for this volume since the last time statistics were collected. |
| vwrp | Indicates the worst recovery point in seconds for the volume group for this volume since the last time statistics were collected. |
