Removing and replacing the enclosure bezel

You may need to remove the front bezel to gain access to the drives, fillers, fans, or to remove the enclosure. The bezel needs to be removed to view the machine type, model, and serial number from the left ear.

To remove the bezel, complete the following steps:

1. Locate the latch on the right-front side of the enclosure.
   The latch has an IBM Logo on it, and a triangular arrow that points in the direction to unlatch the bezel.

   

2. Slide the latch to the left toward the center of the enclosure.

   

3. Slightly pull the right side of the bezel away from the enclosure to release it from the latching mechanism on the right of the enclosure.
4. Slightly pull the left side of the bezel to the right and then away from the enclosure when the right side is free of the latching mechanism.

To replace the bezel, complete the following steps:

5. Align the bezel pin with the left side of the enclosure. On the left side, press in and slide the bezel to the left.
6. Rotate the right side of the bezel to connect the bezel latch to the right ear. The latch snaps in place.
