The technician port

The technician port provides a convenient, direct connection to a node canister for servicing.

On uninitialized systems, the technician port provides access to the system initialization wizard provided by the service assistant. An uninitialized system is one where all node canisters have the green power LED on, the green status LED flashing, and amber fault LED is off.

After a system is initialized, the technician port provides the following access.
  • The service assistant
  • The password reset facility (if enabled)
  • The management CLI (if this is the configuration node)
  • The service CLI.

If you have Secure Shell (SSH) software on the computer that is directly connected to the technician port then you can use it to access the CLI as superuser at 192.168.0.1. The default superuser password is passw0rd. For example, . ssh superuser@192.168.0.1. Use svcinfo and svctask command if you are connected to the technition port of the configuration node. Otherwise, use sainfo and satask commands.
