Logical unit creation and deletion on the IBM Enterprise Storage Server

Certain IBM® Enterprise Storage Server® types are supported for use with the system.

Before you delete or unmap a logical unit (LU) from the system, remove the LU from the storage pool. The following configuration is supported:
  • LU size of 1 GB to 1 PB.
  • RAID 5 and RAID 10 LUs.
  • LUs can be added dynamically.
Attention: When you add more system ports to an existing LU, you must select the Use same ID/LUN in source and target check box. Failure to select the Use same ID/LUN in source and target check box can cause loss in redundancy or a loss of data. If this check box is not available, the option is not required. The detect MDisks task in the management GUI or the detectmdisk command-line interface (CLI) command must be run for the system to detect the new disks.
