Discovering new LUNs

The LUN discovery method that you must use depends on the type of host bus adapter (HBA) that your Oracle host uses.

Procedure

Use the following instructions to discover new LUNs:
JNI HBAs
  1. Run /opt/JNIC146x/jni_update_drv -ar to initiate an HBA driver process to check for new LUNs.
  2. Run devfsadm -C -v to rebuild the device's file system.
Emulex HBAs
Note: Emulex HBAs automatically discover new LUNs.
Run devfsadm -C -v to rebuild the device's file system.
QLogic HBAs
Note: QLogic HBAs automatically discover new LUNs.
Run devfsadm -C -v to rebuild the device's file system.
