Recovering from a link failure between auxiliary-near sites

To recover from a link failure between auxiliary-near sites, check the event log for a 1940 error and run the associated directed maintenance procedure (DMP).

Table 1 describes orchestrator behavior if an auxiliary-near site link fails.
Table 1. IBM Spectrum Virtualize 3-Site Orchestrator behavior if an auxiliary-near site link fails
Use case Automatic periodic source change Periodic source migration (old to new) State transition of 3-site consistency group (old to new) 3-site consistency group status
Link failure between master site and auxiliary-near site (lease expiry on auxiliary-near site) No Master site to master site 3site_consistent to 2site_periodic partner_offline
Link failure between master site and auxiliary-near site (lease expiry on auxiliary-near site) Yes Auxiliary-near site to master site 3site_consistent to 2site_periodic partner_offline
Link failure between master site and auxiliary-near site (lease expiry on master site) Yes Master site to auxiliary-near site 3site_consistent to 2site_periodic partner_offline
Link failure between master site and auxiliary-near site (lease expiry on master site) No Auxiliary-near site to auxiliary-near site 3site_consistent to 2site_periodic partner_offline

After you recover a link between near sites in a HyperSwap® system, the 3-site consistency group state changes to 3site_consistent.

Table 2 describes orchestrator behavior during an auxiliary-near site recovery.
