525 Unable to update system board service processor firmware.

Explanation

The node startup procedures were unable to update the firmware configuration of the node or node canister. The update might take 90 minutes. Does not apply to IBM Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud and IBM Spectrum Virtualize.

On IBM Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud and IBM Spectrum Virtualize, the node startup procedures were unable to update the firmware for the Fibre Channel adapter. The update might take 90 minutes.

User response

On IBM® SAN Volume Controller, complete the following steps:
  1. If the progress bar stops for more than 90 minutes, power off and reboot the node. If the boot progress bar stops again on this code, replace the FRU shown.
  2. If the power off or restart does not work, try removing the power cords and then restarting.
On IBM Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud and IBM Spectrum Virtualize, complete the following steps:
  1. If the progress bar stops for more than 90 minutes, power off and reboot the node. If the boot progress bar stops again on this code, contact your hardware manufacturer. The most likely source of the problem is the Fibre Channel adapter.
  2. If the power off or restart does not work, try removing the power cords and then restarting.
On Storwize® V7000, FlashSystem 7200,FlashSystem 9100, and FlashSystem 9200, follow troubleshooting procedures to fix the hardware:
  1. Follow the hardware remove and replace procedures for the node canister.
On Storwize V5000, Storwize V5000E, Storwize V5100, FlashSystem 5100, and FlashSystem 5000, follow troubleshooting procedures to fix the hardware:
  1. Remove the node from the system and stop the update on the management GUI.
  2. Follow the troubleshooting guide procedures to replace the node canister.
