3415 SCM drive in wrong slot

Explanation

This error occurs when a storage-class memory (SCM) drive is installed in an unsupported slot. SCM drives must be installed in the last four slots of an enclosure.

User response

Complete the following steps:
  1. Use the lsdrive command to determine which drives are installed in unsupported slots. SCM drives have a tech_type of tier_scm.
  2. Move all SCM drives to the last four slots in the enclosure. If none of the last four slots are available, complete one of the following steps:
    • Shut down the system and swap drives so that all SCM drives are in the last four slots in the enclosure.
    • For each array in the enclosure, swap one non-SCM drive with one SCM drive. Each drive swap requires an array rebuild, which starts automatically. Repeat this step until all SCM drives are in the last four slots in the enclosure. This process might take a significant amount of time.
