You must be aware of the requirements for attaching the system to HP 9000 and
HP Integrity servers.
You must meet the following requirements before you can attach the system to your host:
- Check the LUN limitations for your host. Ensure that enough Fibre Channel
adapters are installed in the server to manage the total LUNs that you want to attach.
Note: If you want to use more than eight LUNs per SCSI target, you must set the type attribute to
hpux
when you create the host object. You can use the
system command-line
interface or the management GUI to set this
attribute.
- The system supports HP-UX version 11.31 September 2007 (and later 0803) releases. Hosts that
attach to the system and that have 0709 patches must also have the following patches applied:
- PHKL_37453 (esdisk)
- PHKL_37454 (esctl)
- PHCO_37483 (scsimgr)
The 0803 bundle contains these patches. Note: An RPQ is required if you are using a version
earlier than the HP-UX 11.31 September 2007 release.
- Ensure that you have the documentation for your HP system and the installation information for
your IBM® hardware.
- Ensure that you installed the correct operating systems and version levels on your host.
