Managing the Safeguarded Copy function

Safeguarded Copy function supports the ability to create cyber-resilient point-in-time copies of volumes that cannot be changed or deleted through user errors, malicious actions, or ransomware attacks. The system integrates with IBM Copy Services Manager to provide automated backup copies and data recovery.

After you configure Safeguarded Copy function on your system, ensure to regularly test the configuration to ensure that Safeguarded backups are ready in the event of a cyberattack. In addition to testing and recovering, you can also manage objects that are related to the Safeguarded Copy function on the system. These tasks include adding source volumes to Safeguarded volume groups, managing Safeguarded backups after expiration, and other actions. Some administrative actions are completed on the system, while others are completed on the IBM Copy Services Manager interface.
