722 An Ethernet adapter has a PCI error.

Explanation

An Ethernet adapter has a PCI error. On FlashSystem 7200 and FlashSystem 9200, the adapters form part of the canister assembly.

Data:
  • On FlashSystem 7200 and FlashSystem 9200, a number that indicates the adapter location. The location indicates an adapter slot. See the node canister description for the definition of the adapter slot locations. If the location is 0, the adapter that is integrated into the system board is being reported.
  • On IBM® SAN Volume Controller, IBM Storage Virtualize for Public Cloud, and IBM Storage Virtualize, a number that indicates the adapter location. The location indicates an adapter slot. See the node description for the definition of the adapter slot locations. If the location is 0, the adapter that is integrated into the system board is being reported.

User response

  1. If possible, use the management GUI to run the suggested actions for the associated service error code.
  2. On FlashSystem 7200 and FlashSystem 9200, because the Ethernet adapters are integrated into the node canisters, use the remove and replace procedures to replace the node canister.
  3. On IBM SAN Volume Controller, if the adapter location is 0, use the remove and replace procedures to replace the node canister or system board. If the location is not 0, use the remove and replace procedures to replace the adapter. If this procedure does not fix the problem, replace the node canister or system board.
  4. On IBM Storage Virtualize for Public Cloud and IBM Storage Virtualize, contact your hardware manufacturer.
Possible Cause-FRUs or other cause:
  • On FlashSystem 7200 and FlashSystem 9200, node canister
  • On IBM SAN Volume Controller, Ethernet adapter
  • On IBM SAN Volume Controller, system board
