Implementing replication for disaster recovery
You can implement replication for disaster recovery with policy-based replication.
Policy-based replication uses volume groups and replication policies to deploy and manage replication for disaster recovery.
Configuring disaster recovery using storage partitions
From the Storage partitions panel, navigate to the partition to be configured.
The GUI guides you through the required steps to:
- Configure a partnership between systems, or select an existing partnership.
- Link storage pools between systems.
- Create and link a partition on the remote system for disaster recovery.
After configuring the partition, navigate to the Volume group view within the partition to create and assign replication policies on individual volume groups as required.
Configuring disaster recovery without using storage partitions
If not configured already, navigate to the page to create a partnership between systems for replication.
From the panel, navigate to the volume group to be configured and select the Policies tab.
The GUI guides you through the required steps to:
- Select an existing partnership.
- Link storage pools between systems.
- Create a new replication policy or select an existing policy to assign to the volume group.
