rmsnapshot

Use the rmsnapshot command to remove the snapshot specified either by the snapshot name and the volume group or by the snapshot name and snapshot ID.

Parameters

-snapshot name
(Optional) Specifies the name of the snapshot to be removed.
-volumegroup volumegroup_id_or_namevolumegroup_id_or_name_or_uuid
(Optional) Specifies the name or ID or UUID of the volume group with the snapshot to be removed.
-parentuid id
(Optional) Specifies the UID identifying the parent volumes of the snapshot.
-snapshotid snapshot_id
(Optional) Specifies the ID of snapshot to be removed.
Note: To remove a Safeguarded snapshot, you must have Security Administrator or superuser role. This access is only required if the snapshot is Safeguarded.
Note: This command is available during the upgrade process.
When using the partition IP address to run this command, consider the following:
  • The user must identify objects using the name or UUID. Short IDs cannot be specified when using the partition IP address.
  • Only objects belonging to the partition can be created or acted upon. When creating new objects, the -partition parameter will be auto-populated for the partition. You cannot move items out of a partition when using the partition IP address.
