700 The Fibre Channel adapter that was previously present has not been detected.

Explanation

A Fibre Channel adapter that was previously present is not detected. The adapter might not be correctly installed, or it might have failed.

This node error does not, in itself, stop the node from becoming active in the system; however, the Fibre Channel network might be being used to communicate between the nodes in a clustered system. It is possible that this node error indicates why the critical node error 550 A cluster cannot be formed because of a lack of cluster resources is reported on the node.

This error can also occur if an adapter was deliberately removed.

Data:

  • Location is a number that indicates the adapter location. The location indicates an adapter slot; see the node or node canister description for the definition of the adapter slot locations.

User response

  1. If possible, service this noncritical node error by using the management GUI and running the suggested actions for the service error code.
  2. A number of possible causes exist:
    1. If you deliberately removed the adapter (possibly replacing it with a different adapter type), follow the management GUI suggested actions to mark the hardware change as intentional.
    2. Use the remove and replace procedures to remove and open the node or node canister and check that the adapter is fully installed. If the previous steps did not isolate the problem, use the remove and replace procedures to replace the adapter; if this procedure does not fix the problem, then replace the node canister (system board in 2145-DH8 and 2145-SV1).

Possible Cause—FRUs or other cause:

  • Fibre Channel adapter
  • Node canister (system board on 2145-DH8 or 2145-SV1)
