546 Model ID mismatch between node and boot drive

Explanation

The model ID of the node does not match the model ID of the boot drive. The error data shows the model that is expected by the boot drive followed by the actual model of the node hardware. If the model cannot be determined, then UNK is displayed.

This error typically occurs only after a service procedure to replace a boot drive or node canister is completed incorrectly.

User response

  • If the boot drive was replaced, then the replacement drive was already used in a node of a different type and cannot be reused in the current node. Replace the boot drive with a new FRU part.
  • If the node canister was replaced and boot drives were moved from the old node canister, then the replacement node canister was already used in a system of a different type and cannot be reused in the current system. The node canister must be replaced with a new FRU part.
  • If multiple parts were replaced, including the enclosure midplane, then the model ID is unknown. Contact your service representative.
