Procedure: Understanding the system status from the LEDs
To determine the system status by using the LED indicators on a control enclosure or node, use this procedure.
The control enclosure or the node LEDs, which are visible on the front end cap. These are described in the Control enclosure indicators page in the relevant Hardware Guide..
A detailed view of the system state is provided in the Monitoring sections of the management GUI and by the service assistant. If neither the management GUI nor the service assistant is accessible, use this procedure to determine the system status by using the LED indicators on the control enclosure or node.
Complete the following steps to understand when a node canister or node is not participating in
the system, and what remedial action to take.
- Identify the control enclosure or node for the system you are troubleshooting.
- See Drive indicators and Power supply indicators pages in the relevant Hardware Guide.
- If at least one power supply unit is providing power to a control enclosure or node, see the Node canister indicators page in the relevant Hardware Guide to check the status of the node canister.
- Repeat these steps for each node in the system.
