You can add content elements to a checked-out document. These elements become
permanently associated with the checked-in version of the document.
About this task
For example, suppose that you check in version 1 of a document with the following content
elements: doc1.txt and doc2.txt. Later, you check
in the same document as version 2 with the following content elements:
doc3.txt. This version, version 2, contains only that single content
element (doc3.txt).
Two types of content elements are possible:
| File |
To associate a file with a document object, browse to the location of the file
on your computer or computer network and associate the file with the document
object. You can associate multiple files with the document object.
|

To associate a file reference with a document object, enter a URL that
specifies a valid protocol, such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTPS, or //.
