Configuring AIX, Linux, and Linux on System zFileNet P8 servers (all components)

To ensure hosts file contents, the /etc/hosts file must have the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the servers to be used.

Procedure

  1. Ensure hosts file contents. On each AIX®, Linux®, or Linux on System z® FileNet P8 server that does not use DNS (Domain Name Service) or NIS (Network Information Service), the /etc/hosts file must contain the name and IP address of all servers it will communicate with, including the remote database server, if applicable.
  2. Consult with the application server, database, and FileNet P8 administrators to determine port requirements for all the servers in your environment. For details, see FileNet P8 ports.
  3. Install any required shared libraries for the operating system.
For AIX, review this technote on AIX libraries required by Configuration Manager in Content Platform Engine (CPE) and in Content Management Interoperability Service (CMIS) to ensure that the required libraries are installed and at the correct level.
