Users can share comments about documents that are stored on the content repository. IBM® Connections organizes the posted comments and information about the number and author of comments to help users quickly navigate a potentially large body of content.
IBM Connections users can post comments about documents to which they have read-access permissions. With comments users can share information about a document that does not appear in the file itself. The commenting feature can be a forum for observations, questions, and opinions about documents, such as identifying or asking how the document solves a work issue.
IBM Connections community users can use the commenting feature to view current suggestions or changes to the information in the library. Users can contribute to forums by adding comments about documents. For example, a user can add a comment to suggest an update to a document.
Comments to the document cannot be associated with a particular version of the document. User comments are displayed as a flat list, which means they cannot be threaded in a discussion format. If a user deletes a document from the library, the comments that are associated with the file are also automatically deleted.
