IBM® Guardium® Exposure Manager supports three use cases for employee interactions, system-level data flows, and combined workforce and workload monitoring.

Understanding enterprise data exposure through AI workforce stream (employee interactions)

The platform tracks employee interactions with corporate data through any of the following methods:

• Direct downloads and sharing. For example, downloading from Salesforce and sharing through Slack.
• AI-generated derivative files. For example, uploading an AI-assistant generated report to an employee's personal cloud storage.

Understanding enterprise data exposure through AI workload stream (system-level data flows)

The platform monitors AI system data access and prevents unauthorized sharing.

• Track data through extract, transform, and load extract, transform, and load (ETL) jobs, retrieval augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and vector databases.
• Detect and block unauthorized sharing attempts when employees try to copy and paste AI-generated content containing sensitive data to external channels.

The platform provides a holistic view combining workforce and workload modules with the following features:

• Unified visibility into all organizational data used by AI or sent to AI.
• Comprehensive audit reports showing complete data flows, policy violations, and risk assessments across the organization.
