Viewing the error log
If you have an unexpected failure, z/OS® Explorer captures error data that can help identify the cause of the failure. This information is saved in the error log.
The error log is stored in the Eclipse workspace folder on your computer. You can display the information, warning, and error messages in the Error Log view by clicking
, or you can open the error log in an external application such as a browser, and view the entire contents.You can view the entire log in an external application such as a text editor or a browser. For more information about the Error Log view, see the related link later in this topic.
- Click from the main menu for the workbench.
- In the IBM® Explorer for z/OS window, click Installation Details.
- In the IBM Explorer for z/OS Installation Details window, click the Configuration tab.
- Click View Error Log. You are presented with a list of programs that you can use to open and display the log.
- Select a text editor or browser from the list, then click OK.
The z/OS Explorer error log is displayed in the chosen editor or browser.
