Review the error information, check that the connection parameters are correct, and try to connect again. For more information, see Connecting to a system from the Host Connections view.

If you are using CICS Explorer® and connecting to a stand-alone (SMSS) CICS® Region, check whether there is an inconsistency in the version levels of the libraries. For more information, see Setting up the CICS management client interface.

If you are using CICS Explorer and connecting to a z/VSE® 5.1 or later system, check that the DEFINE PROGRAM, DEFINE TRANSACTION, and DEFINE DOCTEMPLATE for CICS TS are correct. Also, ensure that the DFHCNV code page conversion table is present. For more information about DFHCNV, see CICS Transaction Server for z/VSE Enhancements Guide.

If you receive the message Hostname doesn't match certificate while making a secure connection, resolve this issue by fixing the mismatch between certificate and connection details with one of the following ways:
  1. Update the connection's hostname in your Explorer Host Connections view to match the certificate.
  2. Generate the certificate with the correct hostname in it. Regenerating the certificate might involve coordinating with your system administrator.
Note: The specified hostname in your connection details must exactly match the Common Name (CN) specified in the certificate, or any Subject Alternative Names (SAN) listed.
Alternatively, to resolve the message Hostname doesn't match certificate, you can remove the security check by disabling hostname checking by following these steps:
  1. Click Window > Preferences to open the preferences dialog.
  2. Go to Explorer > Certificate Management and look for the Disable SSL hostname verification option.
