Capturing trace data
When z/OS® Explorer or other compatible product software is running, it records trace information in trace buffers. If an unexpected failure occurs, trace information is written to the error log to help identify the cause of the failure.
You can force the current information in the z/OS Explorer trace buffers to be written to the error log to record any unexpected or unusual behavior that might require further investigation.
The error log is stored in the Eclipse workspace folder on your computer.
You can view the error log locally, or format it ready for sending to an IBM® representative. Remember to record the actions that you were performing at the time the failure occurred. This will assist the IBM service representative if the problem requires further analysis. See the related links for more information.
