IBM Elite Support for Apache Cassandra Specification
IBM Elite Support for Apache Cassandra provides IBM technical support for the open source software that is specified in the order schedule, and any related open source projects listed in this specification, during the product term.
IBM Elite Support for Apache Cassandra does not provide licenses for:
- Open source software
- Open source projects
- Any IBM proprietary software.
No software licenses are provided under IBM Elite Support for Apache Cassandra. You need to separately license and download any Open Source Software or Open Source Projects.
During the product term, IBM might release more software that is related to Apache Cassandra, which might be subject to separate license terms.
Exclusions:
Support is not provided for the following:
- Customization requests beyond the open source software's standard functions.
- Training and onboarding for the open source software.
- Integration assistance with third-party applications.
- Issues caused by improper use.
- Data corruption caused by the user.
IBM Elite Support for Apache Cassandra supports all current versions of Apache Cassandra as defined by the Project's current Supported Releases.
Definitions:
- Cluster means a collection of any number of Nodes running the Software and which communicates with one another using Gossip.
- Documentation means the Open Source Software documentation that is found here: Apache Cassandra as made available at Apache Cassandra.
- Gossip means the mechanism within the Software enabling related Nodes to communicate with one another.
- Node means a Virtual Machine or physical computer that runs one or more components that comprise the Software.
- Open Source Projects means the following open source projects as made available at their
respective project sites or from datastax.com:
- Apache Cassandra DB:
- Cassandra Reaper
- Cassandra Medusa
- DataStax Kubernetes Operator
- Nosql Bench
- DataStax Drivers for Apache Cassandra, or the Apache Cassandra drivers created by donation from DataStax listed at DataStax drivers.
- K8ssandra
- Apache Cassandra DB:
- Open Source Software shall mean the following Open Source Software, subject to the
Product procured by the Customer:
- Apache Cassandra means the Open Source Software licensed by the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) as made available at Apache Cassandra or from datastax.com. Apache and Cassandra are trademarks of The Apache Software Foundation, and are not owned or distributed by DataStax.
- Subscription means Customer’s subscription to IBM Elite Support for Apache Cassandra during a specified Product Term.
- Product Term means the term for which the Customer has subscribed to IBM Elite Support for Apache Cassandra.
- Case means a separate and distinct Customer request for technical assistance with an Open
Source Project that is submitted with sufficient details such as:
- Contact details.
- Issue Description - A clear explanation of the problem the customer is experiencing.
- Severity Level - How critical the issue is for the customer's business operations (for example, Critical, High, Medium, Low), which is subject to IBM DataStax Support’s reasonable determination.
- Ticket Category - The type of issue that is reported (For example, Bug Fix, Feature Request, and Configuration Help).
