Automatic Updates for Task Management
Emptoris® Program Management provides automatic updates for the task management activities. For example, the start date, end date, and the status of a task is recalculated and the task is automatically started based on the scheduled start date and the configured task rules. Any automatic update to a task is also propagated to the milestones, projects, and programs that are associated with this task.
The automatic updates are triggered in the following scenarios:
- When the Task Monitor job is run: The tasks in all the projects are recalculated and the updates in tasks are propagated to the corresponding milestones, projects, and programs.
- When a task is created, updated, deleted, or started: All the tasks in the same project are recalculated and the updates in tasks are propagated to the corresponding milestones, project, and program.
- When a task rule is created, updated, or deleted: All the tasks in the same project are recalculated and the updates in tasks are propagated to the corresponding milestones, project, and program.
- When a project is started: The status of all the tasks in the same project are changed based on their scheduled start dates. The changes in tasks are propagated to milestones, projects, and programs.
- When the project start date is updated: All the tasks in the same project are recalculated and the updates in tasks are propagated to the corresponding milestones, project, and program.
- When the project is refreshed: All the tasks in the refreshed project are recalculated and the updates in tasks are propagated to the corresponding milestones, project, and program.
