What's new in IBM Envizi Supply Chain Intelligence

To meet your business needs, IBM® Envizi™ Supply Chain Intelligence regularly introduces important new features and enhancements.

June 2025

Support for additional delimiters in data import
You can now select from a range of delimiters when importing data using the Data management feature in the Admin section. In addition to the default option, comma (,), colon (:), pipe (|), and semicolon (;) are now supported as delimiters.
Enable supplier-specific method action plan now available
The new Enable supplier-specific method action plan offers a more flexible way to mark products as material and engage suppliers. The new approach replaces the batch-based method and retires the old work queues. For more information, see Action plans dashboard.
Action plans now live
The new Action plans feature makes it easier for you to launch and manage supply chain emissions and ESG initiatives, which includes requesting the supplier-specific PCF data, enabling hybrid calculation method, enabling the average-data factor sets, collecting supplier ESG data, requesting supplier ESG actions, and more. For more information, see Action plans dashboard.
Updated side navigation menu
The side navigation menu is updated to reflect the key stages of the user journey: administer, monitor, manage, and report. This reorganization is intended to provide a more intuitive and structured experience. For more information, see Side navigation menu.
Redesigned Data explorer
The Data explorer has a new look to help you work with data more efficiently. It now includes specific views such as Products, Suppliers, Purchasing organizations, Purchasing locations, Product mapping, Product ESG data, Supplier ESG data, and Factors. You can now also download Excel reports directly and access them anytime by clicking View recent exports.

May 2025

Bulk data upload for PCFs now available
Supplier portal users can now download a CSV template containing all their pending Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) requests. This allows suppliers to work offline and gather information for multiple products simultaneously. Once completed, the bulk file can be uploaded back into the portal to efficiently respond to multiple PCF requests at once.
Attach supporting files to PCF surveys
Suppliers can now attach files directly to individual PCF surveys within the supplier portal. Attachments include documents such as certification reports, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) results, third-party verification records, and more.

March 2025

Extended support for additional Scope 3 categories
You can now load and report data for Scope 3 categories 1 and 2, and synchronize it with Envizi ESG reporting. For more information on configuring both categories, see Configuring for category 1 and 2.

February 2025

New data ingest templates
New, simplified data ingest templates are available that are easier to implement. The templates use CSV files that have standard business user-friendly column names, and reduced technical requirements for data import. For more information, see the relevant topics in Configuring and Administering.
Order line detail view updated
More detailed emissions calculation information is now available for the supplier-specific, hybrid, average-data, and spend-based methodologies. For more information, see Performing audit trails.
Supplier portal training tours added
Product tours have been added to the main supplier portal page, the product carbon footprint survey, and the supplier emissions surveys. The product tours provide in-context training and detailed information.

December 2024

Hybrid calculation method added
Supplier-specific spend factors are created automatically when supplier emissions data is submitted either through the supplier portal or through direct upload. Emissions from new order lines for the suppliers are automatically calculated by using hybrid factors if a product PCF does not exist. For more information, see Hybrid method, Emissions calculations in Envizi Supply Chain Intelligence, and Creating custom hybrid factors.
Average-data calculation method updated
You can import average-data custom factors into the system that represent emissions per physical unit for any product category. If units on the product master data match the custom factor of the category, then emissions are calculated by using the average-data method, if either a hybrid factor or a PCF do not exist. For more information, see Average-data method and Creating custom average-data factors.
Supplier portal update
The revised design of the supplier portal makes it easier to see updated status and recent messages, and to find open and overdue requests.
Supplier portal frequently asked questions updates
The new frequently asked questions page has been updated with even more supplier training content, including links to white papers that cover an introduction to the GHG protocol methods and approaches to decarbonization.
Supplier ESG survey added
The new supplier ESG survey enables a supplier to respond to various common ESG topics.
Edit supplier contact added
Users can now change the supplier contact details directly from the supplier details page. The contact information is used for supplier portal invitations and communication. For more information, see Changing supplier contact.

September 2024

PCF approval workflow added
Process workflows have been added to validate and review PCF submissions, including requests to resubmit, and also supplier submission of revised PCF data.
Emissions target survey added
You can request emissions targets from suppliers and view them in the supplier details view. For more information, seeEmissions target survey.
Emissions details report added
Search, sort, and filter a list of all OrderLines by 21 data dimensions that include emissions, emissions intensity, total spend, date range, and more. For more information, see Analyzing emissions.
Emissions details report export added
Export any filtered view of the emissions details view to a CSV file directly from the user interface. For more information, see Analyzing emissions and Exporting order line data.

June 2024

Supplier emissions surveys
Use the supplier emissions survey to request supplier scope 1 and scope 2 emissions and revenue data, which is needed to enable hybrid method calculations. For more information, see Supplier emissions survey.
Emissions guidance and best practices added to the supplier portal
A frequently asked questions page has been added to the supplier portal where administrators can define customized guidance, training, and remediation information.
Supplier portal admin preview experience added
General users can now preview the supplier portal in read-only mode to preview the supplier experience before they submit a request. For more information, see Previewing the supplier portal.
Organizational hierarchy added
A multitier agnostic data structure for multilevel parent-child organizational hierarchy and reporting capabilities has been added. The hierarchy enables the filtering and sorting of reports by organizational structure. For more information, see Setting up purchasing organizations and Analyzing emissions.

March 2024

Supplier portal first release
You can now invite your suppliers to collaborate through the supplier portal by inviting them to participate in data submission. The suppliers receive an invitation email and need to register for an IBMid.
Product carbon footprint (PCF) survey
If your supplier submits product carbon footprint data directly through the PCF survey in the supplier portal, you can enable supplier-specific emissions calculations.

December 2023

The IBM Envizi Supply Chain Intelligence module in the premium edition of Envizi ESG Suite is released for the first time.
