Copying sample cards

You can create cards by copying sample cards. Modify the cards according to your requirements to add them to a dashboard.

About this task

The following options are available when you copy sample cards:

Preview mode: You can open a sample card in the preview mode to see the metadata, query and transformation, and styling properties of a card without creating a copy. After you check the card's data, you can either create an identical card with minor changes or copy query and transformation to create new card. You can open a sample card in preview mode in the Card builder or Cards panel.
Edit source: You can use an interface to view, copy, and modify the card's source information in JSON format.

Open a sample card in the preview mode by using the Cards panel.
1. From the side navigation menu, click Dashboard builder.
2. Click the dashboard name to which you want to add a new card.
  The Cards side panel appears.
3. On the Samples tab, click the ellipse button that is shown on the card that you want to open in the preview mode.
4. Click Create a copy.
  The selected card opens in the preview mode. You can view the metadata, query and transformation, and styling properties of a card.
Optional: Open a sample card in the preview mode by using the Card builder.
1. From the side navigation menu, click Card builder.
  The Card library appears.
2. On the Samples tab, click the name of the card that you want to open in the preview mode.
  The selected card opens in the preview mode. You can view the metadata, query and transformation, and styling properties of a card.
Click Copy.
Modify the necessary information on the General, Data, and the Style tabs.
Click Save.

A new card is created and available on the My cards tab.
