Data usage
Using PowerReports in IBM® Envizi ESG Suite, you can report across cost, emissions, energy, or native units for the respective data type.
Reporting on absolute values is a core part of reporting in Envizi ESG Suite. In the monthly dataset PowerReport, the emissions, energy, and native units data all expand to have similar breakdowns. For example, the emissions category has emissions for current period, emissions in the previous period, and so on. Energy and native units categories have a similar breakdown.
In Envizi ESG Suite, you can report on absolute values by using the
Datamart dataset as a base. Add titles to your graphs to make it clear what data they are showing,
and update the titles to reflect any updates that you make.
- Reporting on cost, energy, emissions or native units
-
- To report on cost, add a card visualization to display the total cost, and add the Cost value from the Cost category. Add the Currency Code from the currency category to another card visualization, which enables you to understand which currency the various units that are reported in the graph are using.
- To report on energy, emissions, or native units instead, select the total cost card visualization, remove Cost from the field selection and drag Energy into the field selection instead. Update the card label to ensure that it refers to total energy.
- Comparing values for the current year to values for the previous year
-
- To compare cost values for the current year against the previous year, add a chart and add the Date field from the Calendar category. From the Cost category, add the Cost field for the current year, and from the Cost Variance subcategory add the cost for the previous year, Cost PY.
- To update the cost comparison to energy, remove the cost fields from the graph. Drag in Energy and energy for the previous year, Energy PY. Then, update the title of the graph. The graph now shows a comparison of energy for the current year against energy for the previous year.
- Reporting on a data type in native units
-
- To report on one data type in native units, first go to the Measure category and add the Data Type as a filter.
- Select the specific data type to filter on, for example, Electricity.
- Drag in the native units and the native units from the previous year to compare them.
