Data accuracy
Understanding data accuracy is critical for reporting. In IBM® Envizi ESG Suite PowerReports, you can see total data, data that's actual or estimated by the supplier, or data that's accrued by Envizi ESG Suite system calculations.
For a monthly dataset PowerReport, the following example shows how you can look
at costs and native units to determine how much of the data is actual, estimated, or accrued:
- Look at the cost category:
- To plot total cost for a period, add a donut chart and select the cost value. The chart indicates the number of units of currency.
- To split actual, estimated, and accrued data to determine how accurate the indication is, deselect cost and, instead of using cost as a single value, drag in actual, accrued, and estimated cost to the chart. The chart shows how much of the data is actual, accrued, and estimated. In Envizi ESG Suite, accruals use a daily average to determine gaps to provide holistic reporting.
- To look at the trends to see the division of actual, accrued, and estimated over time, select a
stacked bar chart:
- Drag in actual, accrued, and estimated cost to the chart.
- To add the date period that spans the date category, select the Occurred on Date value, and remove Quarter and Day.
- Drill into the data to get more granularity, and see the split between actual, estimated, and accrued data for each month over time.
