Refreshing data
In IBM® Envizi ESG Suite, factors are applied to account records and the results are transformed into normalized monthly values.
The monthly normalized data is then aggregated and bundled into a precalculated data mart to provide fast and responsive visualization capabilities at group and organization levels. A similar process is used for PowerReports, which also relies on a precalculated data set to allow for large data sets to be manipulated and reported on more easily.
Note: Normalizing and aggregating data introduces
the possibility that some transaction or record data might get out of sync with recent record
updates, the underlying data structure, and precalculated data views.
Some of the actions that can cause data to get out of sync include:
- Changing the account style of an account.
- Changing the region of a location.
- Changing the factor set that is applied to a part of the organization hierarchy.
Some actions take immediate effect, some are applied overnight when the data is refreshed, and some are applied at the weekend when the data is refreshed.
The Data refreshes table explains when data refreshes
occur based on the changes you make to your settings.
| Node | On change | Time of change |
|---|---|---|
| Organization | Change factor set | End of day |
| Location | Change region | Immediate |
| Account |

Data refreshes
The following data refreshes take place:
- Weekly refresh
- The job runs weekly to recalculate statistics based on co2e factors that incorporate region and property.
- Daily refresh
- The job runs to process dirty queue jobs that recalculate co2e factors for accounts.
