Assigning an API token role

Assign an API token personal role to users to allow them to generate API tokens to use in API calls.

About this task

You must be a system administrator to assign the API token personal role.

Procedure

  1. From the main menu, click Manage > Contacts & Logins to open the Contacts & Logins grid.
  2. Find the contact in the grid, click Actions and select Login.
  3. Select the contact in the Contact Login grid. Click Actions and select Add Personal Role for API Tokens.

What to do next

The user who was assigned the API token personal role logs out of the platform. The user waits a few minutes to allow access rights to be refreshed and logs back in. When the user clicks the profile icon to view their personal settings options, the menu item My API Access Tokens is available.
