Provisioning an Amazon S3 data service

You can provision an Amazon S3 data service to load data into the platform or to export data from the platform. An S3 data service provides access to a specific folder in an S3 bucket.

About this task

Note:

• You must create an associated data pipeline to process the files that use the Amazon S3 data service.
• Amazon S3 folders can be used for either file loading or data export, but not both. You cannot change your selection after the service is created.

1. As a system administrator, from the main menu, click Admin > Data Flow Automation to open the Data Services grid.
2. Click Add New Service.
3. Select either File Loading or Data Export as the category.
4. Select Amazon S3 (Cloud Storage) as the data service type.
5. Set the owner to Envizi.
6. Assign a name to the data service.
7. Optional: If you created a data pipeline for file loading or data export by using Amazon S3 cloud storage, you can select a data pipeline from the list.
8. Click Save.

Results

The data service is created and enabled. To use the data service, you must set the credentials from the Manage Connections page.
