Validation Opened on dates

The Validation - Opened-on dates extract report compares the opened on date of all accounts with the start date of the first data record captured for those accounts. The report also shows variances between each accounts active period and effective dates of the classification group of the account location.

About this task

Table 1 describes the columns in the report.

Column Description
Location Location name.
Type In IBM® ESG Suite, type is set to account or meter.
Supplier Supplier of the utility or emission source.
Account Account number.
Account Reference Account reference.
Account Style The account template that is associated with the account.
Data Type Type of data, for example, electricity [kWh] or natural gas [GJ].
Opened On The date on which the account was opened.
Minimum Start Period The earliest start date of all records that were captured for the account.
Day Difference Difference between the opened on date of the account and the minimum start period of the account.
Classification Group Start Date The Effective From date of the classification group that the account belongs to, if applicable.
Days Difference from Classification Group Start Date The difference between the classification group start date and the minimum start period of the account.

Procedure

  1. In the Global search field in the header, select Reports, and enter Validation - Opened-on Dates.
  2. Select the report from the search results to open the Reports grid.
  3. Click the report in the Reports grid.
  4. Select the option to display the report on the screen, which is the default option.
  5. Set the scope of the report, such as a specific group.
  6. Click Submit.
  7. Click Download As CSV on the report.
  8. Review the CSV file to find records with dates that do not align with date the account was opened.
    1. Apply a filter to the first row, the header row, of the file.
    2. In Column K - Date Difference, remove 0 (zeros) and blank values.
  9. Review the CSV file to find classification group effective dates that do not align with date the account was opened.
    1. Apply a filter to the first row, the header row, of the file.
    2. In Column M - Days Difference from Classification Group Start Date, remove 0 (zeros) and blank values.

What to do next

If you find that the data record dates do not align with the active dates of the account, either
  • Modify the opened on date of the account, or
  • Adjust the dates for the records so that they fall within the accounts active period.

If you find the effective dates of the classification group do not align with active dates of the account, either

  • Modify the opened on date of the account, or
  • Modify the effective dates of the classification group.
