Creating an action
Create an action for each of your sustainability initiatives under a program. Use the action to predict the cost and emission savings that each initiative might achieve.
About this task
Note: All users can create actions. Location-level users can create actions in programs or
action plans that are associated with their locations. This restriction prevents users from viewing
or creating actions for areas of the organization that they do not have permission to
access.
For more information about the fields that are available when you are creating or
editing an action, see Action fields.Procedure
-
Choose a program. For example, you might select a program that is created to reduce energy production levels.
-
Choose an action plan.
For example, you might create an action pan to reduce energy consumption in the EMEA region and another action plan to reduce energy consumed in the North America region.
-
Define an action.
For example, you might plan to replace air conditioning units in a building to consume less energy.
-
Assign a status.
Set the action an appropriate status for the initiative, for example, In progress. The status fields are customizable.
- Associate the action with a location.
-
Specify the data type that is associated with the action. For example, a replacement of air conditioning is expected to generate savings in consumption and emission levels of electricity. In this case, you select electricity [kWh] as the data type.
- Optional: Add a description of the action.
- Optional: Associate the action with a specific account or meter.
- Optional: Specify the expected implementation cost of the action.
- Optional: Assign planned dates, for example, start and end dates of the action.
- Optional: Assign action owner.
- Optional: Set expected financial and emissions savings.
- Optional: Set additional fields to help you assess and track the action.
- Click Save.
