Monthly dataset

The monthly dataset is used in IBM® ESG Suite to build custom reports. The monthly dataset aggregates data from the platform at a monthly level.

The dataset refreshes nightly, outside of business hours, so the data is reflected in PowerReports the day after it was loaded. Some of the tables contain data points or absolute values from the platform. Examples of these tables include:
Energy
Total energy that is consumed and produced in the default reporting unit of your organization.
Emissions
GHG emission metrics, including lifecycle, market-based emissions, and indirect emissions.
Cost
Actual, accrued and estimated cost data.
Native units
Actual, accrued, and estimated cost data in native units.
Each of these tables contains a total for the current and previous year, as well as for the variation between the current and previous year.

Another type of table includes user-defined fields. The dataset ingests unique configurable entities such as targets, radios, and data type groups. Similar to the data points, changes in the configuration of these entities are reflected in the PowerReports the next day.

You can set the scope of your report to show data for part of the organization hierarchy. Use the Group type field to filter the report to include in its scope classification groups or portfolio groups. You can add level 1, 2, and 3 groups so that you can drill up or down through the hierarchy and see summarization of data at the appropriate level of the hierarchy. Use locations to filter the report to include or exclude specific locations.

Another useful table is the Measures table, which includes useful fields for filtering the report, for example, emission scope and data type.

You can export the source csv files that make up the monthly dataset to an S3 or SFTP location that is hosted by Envizi ESG Suite. For more information, see Data Export.
