Using the Envizi ESG Suite materiality framework
IBM® ESG Suite maintains a managed framework that is called Materiality Topics, which helps companies document and score ESG topics based on their materiality to the company. The Materiality Topics framework aligns with ESRS topics, sub-topics, and sub-sub-topics. Each Materiality Topic is linked to questions in other reporting frameworks, such as ESRS. Therefore, you can review the documented outcome of the materiality assessment when you create disclosures for other reporting frameworks.
About this task
To use the Envizi ESG Suite materiality framework, you must create a disclosure and add questions from the Materiality Topics framework. Assigned users can then review these questions, document their assessment, and score the materiality of each topic.
Procedure
- Create a disclosure. See Creating a disclosure.
- Add questions from the Materiality Topics framework. See Adding questions to a disclosure and Assigning questions.
- Assigned users review the Materiality Topic questions using the available guidance to determine the materiality of the topic.
- Document your materiality assessment in the Response field.
- Score the Materiality Topic based on its impact materiality or financial materiality. See Documenting double materiality.
- Optional: When you respond to another disclosure for a reporting framework, see the related Materiality Topics on the Materiality panel on the right of the screen. This panel displays the assessment of each topic, including impact and financial materiality scores, helping users determine whether the question is a requirement for disclosure.
