Creating boards

Use Kanban-style boards to manage issues. Create a new board from scratch or use an existing board as the basis for the new board.

About this task

You can create a board that is visible to you or one that is public, that is, visible to anyone in the organization.

Procedure

  1. From the main menu, click Monitor > All Issues.
  2. From the Issues grid, from the secondary menu, click Boards.
  3. Click All Issues to open a board.
  4. On the secondary menu, click Actions > Create New Board. Note: To create a copy from an existing board, click Save Board As.
  5. Set these fields to refine the issue types that can display on the board.
    • Required: Assign a name to the board.
    • Enter a description.
    • Enter a summary. The board is filtered to show only those issues that match the summary.
    • Select a process to filter the board to match an issue type. For example, select Data Capture and Data Anomaly.
    • Further refine the board by selecting a category and sub category.
    • Refine the board to include issues from specific assignees and reporters.
    • Select a priority to focus on high priority issues.
    • Select a date in Issues created to focus on recent issues.
    • Reduce noise by hiding issues that are older than a specific number of weeks.
    • Issues updated (last event) is most useful for issue types where multiple alerts are linked to a single issue.
    • In Potential Savings Greater Than, focus on the most valuable issues by setting a value threshold.
    • Select a ranking to prioritize issues.
    • Limit the number of issues on the board.
    • In the Sharing field, limit the board to be visible by you or seen by anyone in the organization, that is, public.
  6. Click Save.
