What's new in GRESB 2025

In 2025, GRESB announced some changes to the GRESB Real Estate Assessment framework. It has a minor impact on the GRESB API connection within the Envizi ESG Suite platform. For information about the changes, see the GRESB official documentation at GRESB Real Estate Standard 2025 Updates.

Envizi ESG Suite has upgraded the platform to work with the latest GRESB Real Estate framework changes:

  • A new extract style report Extract for GRESB Asset Summary has been introduced to allow the review of GRESB asset data in bulk before submissions to GRESB. The values in the report are the same as the values that are displayed in the GRESB Asset Summary (with API) page, with the exclusion of GRESB portal and API status-related fields.
  • An API version of the Extract for GRESB Asset Summary report, _Envizi-ExtractForGRESBAssetSummary, is also available for users of the Envizi ESG Suite API Add-On module.
  • A new energy survey section has been introduced to help answer four new renewable energy procurement-related questions for each asset.
  • API support has been added for the transfer to GRESB of responses to new questions.
  • Starting from the report data year 2024, the following variables are excluded from annual datasets that are sent to GRESB. Instead, they are now sent as part of an asset’s nonannual data, similar to asset addresses. This is a backend API schema change and has no impact on user experiences.
    • Asset name
    • Asset size
    • Gross asset value
    • Property type
  • Performance improvements have been implemented in the GRESB group level grid pages to provide a smoother experience during the bulk capture of GRESB responses. If you use a copy and paste operation to bulk upload data in tabular format directly into Envizi ESG Suite, you must confirm the bulk upload in a confirmation dialog before it is completed.
