Uploading files by web upload

You can upload files to the platform from the Upload Files page.

About this task

Important:

By default, files that are uploaded through the Upload Files page are considered to contain account data.

If the file being uploaded contains meter data, or the file is an attachment to an account record, you must first create a Data Flow Automation Data Pipeline matching the filename pattern and with a target system of Meters or Attachments, as required. If you do not create this pipeline, your file might fail to load with the error No suitable file specification was found. For more information, see Setting up Data Flow Automation

The latest version of the Upload Files page provides the following improvements:
  • Visibility of file processing and loading status.
  • Direct access to file processing and loading details.

The Upload Files page shows all files uploaded in the last 24 hours by default. You can apply filters to your view of the data, for example, to see the last 7 days of files.

Procedure

  1. From the main menu, click Manage > Upload Files.
  2. Click Upload and browse to select the file.
  3. Click Upload File.

What to do next

When the file is uploaded, you can check the status of the file processing and loading in the grid. You might need to refresh the page to see the latest status. You can also download the file. You can directly access the file processing and loading details by clicking Actions and selecting Loading Logs.
