Creating a disclosure

Create a disclosure based on a sustainability framework and use the disclosure as the basis of a sustainability report, such as your annual report, corporate social responsibility report, or a regulatory filing.

About this task

You can create a disclosure to begin preparing ESG responses aligned with selected frameworks. During setup, you define key properties such as reporting period, boundary, and default assignments. Disclosures start in Draft status, allowing you to configure them before making them visible to participants. The scope of a disclosure might be a particular group or division in your organization. You can associate a disclosure with a group and create multiple disclosures to represent other units. When you create a disclosure, if you restrict the disclosure to a group, only users with access to this group can view the disclosure. The group that is assigned to the disclosure is displayed on the disclosure home page.

When you create a disclosure, you set dates. Dates in the disclosure must be set in chronological order.

You can enable email notifications for a disclosure. If enabled, emails are sent to remind about assignments, to give status updates, and to remind about due dates.
Note: Enable email notifications after you add questions to the disclosure and you finalize the list of questions.

Procedure

  1. On the home page, click Sustainability Reporting Manager.
  2. Click Create disclosure.
  3. Open the Settings tab.
    1. Enter the disclosure name and assign a disclosure owner.
    2. Set the reporting period by selecting an end month and the length in months.
    3. Optional: Click Restrict reporting boundary to limit access. Next, select the level, either organization or group, that you want the restriction to be at.
    4. Set the current status. By default, disclosures are created in Draft status so you can set them up first. If you select Active, choose whether to enable email notifications.
  4. Open the Default assignments tab.
    1. Add a default assignee and a default reviewer.
    2. Optional: If you choose to add an approver, set a default approver.
  5. Open the Due dates tab.
    1. Set the Ready for review date, Complete date, and Disclosure submission date.
    2. If an approver is included, also set a Ready for approval date that falls between the Ready for review and complete dates.
  6. Click Save.

Results

Your disclosure is now created. You can proceed to add questions and reassign them from default users to specific team members. If the disclosure is still in Draft status, you can reopen Edit disclosure and set it to Active when you're ready to begin work. The disclosure is listed under Current disclosures on the Sustainability Reporting Manager home page.

What to do next

Add frameworks to the disclosure and add questions.

To edit the disclosure, go to the overflow menu Overflow menu icon that looks like three vertical dots and click Edit disclosure.
